"In the repertoire of the dramatic high-pitched baritone..."
The baritone Wolfgang Rauch was born in Cologne, Germany. After he successfully completed studies in economics and political science, he decided to study singing at the Musikhochschule of Cologne, Germany, and also in Italy and France. Due to his talent as a singer and performer he quickly became, whilst being a singing student, a permanent member of the Deutsche Oper am Rhein in Düsseldorf. And later he joined the Bavarian State Opera in Munich under the conduct of Prof. Wolfgang Sawallisch, who entrusted him with all the essential vocal parts in the art of lyric and cavalier baritone.

Meanwhile, the increasing demands from his home country Germany and from abroad led Wolfgang Rauch to begin an internationally oriented career.
